A sticker, decal, mini First Finder certificate or something flat that can be pasted in the LB journal is cool. A patch is really really nice, but pricey for the planter. Otherwise, anything is fine. I have used a golden glass star (“gold star for first finder”), stickers, beach glass, etc.
One guy often leaves incense sticks, esp. in his cemetary boxes- traditional Chinese!
But basically they are personalized art cards the size of baseball cards. They are artist trading cards using handcarved stamps. This google image search for artist trading cards will show you some quick examples:

What exactly is a Letterbox Trading Card? Is there somewhere I could see examples of these?
