My xmas gift this year was an iPhone. I’m loving the camera apps that are available. Here’s a couple of photos that I’ve snapped and filtered. (I’ve tied them into letterboxing so it’s not all about my new toy
)

This campus will have a couple of OPAL boxes this February (nudge nudge wink wink) --Photo app: ToonPaint

Nice photos! I recognize the locations for both… So I’ve been spoiled for your OPAL boxes!
I do find my own iPhone very helpful in my letterboxing adventures – from using the camera when I forget my standard one (I don’t have the fancy new iPhone with the stellar camera, just the old one), a compass just in case, basic GPS (I know you have a much better one for your caching adventures), and access to internet to look up the comments or see if a clue has changed since I’ve printed it. It’s definitely helpful
Looking forward to see what is planted for OPAL!
Oh, oh! I know where those are, too! Isn’t it amazing how strong a sense of place we have, once we know it.
Man, you really have an in for that library, don’t you?
Just how many libraries do you have access to?
I got permission for my OPAL box yesterday. In fact, the library was so enthusiastic they asked if I might extend it into all the branches! They were even talking newspaper article, and I had to ask them to slow down a bit. But it’s good to know they’re on board.
Ooooh, that ToonPaint app looks super sweet. I might have to invest in it.
Since I got the iPhone several months back, I’ve gone all over with the photo apps. But with a photo I take straight up with the camera I usually put through Snapseed, then Camera +, then Instagram. (If you don’t have it, it’s worth it — fantastic).
I also use Hipstamatic — which I’ve gotten big into recently. And Hipstamatic disposable, which has been very cool.
Your Hipstamatic blog entry http://hoohaablog.com/?p=3039 is so inspiring. I’m getting used to Snapseed and ToonPaint and if I get better at composition I’m going to venture into the Instagram/Histomatic arena. What I love about these apps they turn my snapshot, ordinary photos into something more artsy. It’s easy to be creative. It would be extremely complicated trying to get the same effects with Photoshop. ToonPaint is especially fun, it’s like finger-painting without the mess.
Cool! I love that toon looking one! I want an iphone so badly!
